The University of Jos management Six (6) Years ago on Thursday 20th November, 2016 launched “Operation Beauty from Ashes”, a campaign aimed at raising awareness on the inferno that gutted its Central Library complex on the evening of of Saturday 8th October, 2016.
This same campaign, was also to raise funds to help rebuild
the Library Structure and also replace the over 100,000 titles that were lost

This blog was a product of that campaign. Over the years,
this blog was able to keep the public abreast with the processes of rebuilding
the library. We had a large number of donors, who donated both books and
finances to see that our dream of rebuilding was achieved. Click here for donors list.
The University management led by Prof. Sebastine Maimako,
library administration, under the leadership of Prof. Stephen Akintunde and a
team of dedicated staff put in all efforts working tirelessly to achieve this
great feat.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we present to you the new face of the University
of Jos Central Library, Naraguta.
