Operation "Beauty from Ashes": An Update.

The Operation “Beauty from Ashes” continues with significant interventions from:

• The United States Embassy in Nigeria supporting the vision of the university “to create a world-class creative learning environment” by its willingness to assist in possible ways. A practical demonstration is The Embassy providing a travel grant to the University Librarian, Dr. Stephen Akintunde and a lecturer in the Library School, Dr. Victoria Lawal to attend the 2018 Annual Conference of the American Library Association in New Orleans for learning and networking.

• Gusau Institute, Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria donated over 680 titles of books.

• Britain Nigeria Educational Trust raising support among librarians in United Kingdom libraries.

• International African Institute, School of Oriental and African Studies, London mobilizing journals and monographs on African studies.

• UK Libraries and Archives Group on Africa (SCOLMA) coordinating mobilisation of member libraries of SCOLMA for journals and books donations.
